It’s In The Details
Truth be told I’m a blue jeans girl at heart. And on really busy days there is nothing easier than pulling together a simple denim look. The secret sauce is the details. While I love this long sleeve linen top and always look for elevated basics, the top alone with jeans would just be meh! So I pulled out some earrings to tie the top together with the shoes and it was okay but still lacking. I added a little texture with the bag (and the Ark Bag is still on trend). However, a cute straw bag would work fine too and is always a staple. The scarf adds the punch of color the outfit was lacking and really pulls it all together. If you are like me, you have a drawer full of them from over the years and it’s a great way to recycle what you already own! Anyway, it has all the main colors of the outfit and more. Don’t be afraid to go bold here...have some fun and work with what you own. For those who largely shy away from color, scarves and earrings can be your best friend...like for real! So the next time you are looking to get out of the door in a hurry, just remember the details.
On a side note, did you know long sleeves can actually help keep you cooler in warm months? It’s true and I’ve been a fan for years. Aside from the fact that your skin is protected from harmful sun damage, when you sweat (albeit gross), the sweat actually helps cool you down. And in Houston, we are going to sweat no matter what, so why not make it work for you?
